Title:  Capitol Limited
Description:  Amtrak train 29, the Capitol Limited, trails the rear end of Amtrak train 49, the Lake Shore Limited (with a baggage car seperating both trains) while traveling west through Porter on Amtrak's Michigan Corridor line (home of the Blue Water and Wolverine service). These trains were rerouted through Michigan this day due a derailment at Waterloo, Indiana that blocked both mains. The combined train reached Michigan via Toledo, Ohio and got back onto home rails here at Porter to continue their trip to Chicago. Compared to the last time these two traveled through Michigan (back in 2007), there we no passengers aboard the train but today, this train was loaded (though both trains were operating several hours behind schedule - it was 3:50pm CT when it passed through Porter - passengers got rare of view of Michigan).

Description:  #58 waiting for its passengers to arrive in Carbondale via bus from Memphis. This train arrived early in the morning as #59, was turned on the wye and to return north as #58. Due to flooding of the tracks at Makanda and further south at Cairo, the Centralia District is temporarily out of service between Carbondale and Wickliffe (thus making a good parking spot for the train). Traffic is being routed on the Edgewood Cutoff and Eldorado Sub during this. Two of the line's main staples, A431 and A432 are running this arrangement as well.
