Ghost Of The MN&S At Dodd Avenue
Title:  Ghost Of The MN&S At Dodd Avenue
Description:  I found this unit south of Dodd Avenue whilst one of the crew got some "beans" from a nearby Marathon station. The 37 looks so much like an Minneapolis, Northfield, & Southern unit it is only the ditch lights that remind you it is not a ghost from the days of the MN&S past.

Train U TNDCXP1 26T With A Special Guest
Title:  Train U TNDCXP1 26T With A Special Guest
Description:  Train U TNDCXP1 26T --a unit oil job-- was stopped by the dispatcher while passing through Long Lake while on its way east. Leading the three units was a celebrity unit--the Norfolk Southern Lackawanna Heritage unit! At last I finally made my first NS Heritage unit catch. I wonder if the motorists on U.S. 12 noted it? (Note: I had hoped to get a photo of the front of the engine, but I had a pressing errand I had to do in Wayzata--I heard a train go through Wayzata during my errand run and when I came back to Long Lake, I saw this train had gone. I still got a decent shot, though.)

Weeds Are Down, But Rails Are Severed
Title:  Weeds Are Down, But Rails Are Severed
Description:  The Princess Depot looks grand during the noon hour of the first Tuesday in August. Sadly, while the old Milwaukee Rails at left are visible due to weed control, the route into the park has been cut at East Minnehaha Parkway and Nawadaha Boulevard due to recent road work. Why can't the corridor into the park be maintained for special train movements, and why did Canadian Pacific allow Minneapolis to cut the rails twice (three times if you count paving the tracks over up at 46th Street).
