Title:  Mo-Pac Lindsay Spur
Description:  Many years ago, a single spur ran west thru citrus orchards to a location near 6 mi rd and Minnesota Rd. The spur is identified as Lindsay Spur from a 1965 topo map. I am unable to identify the group of buildings as packing sheds or warehouses for cotton. The original buildings have been razed. In this field or open lot; the tracks made a sweeping "S"curve from the orchard towards the foreground. The spur probably was lifted during the 80s.

Description:  The terminus of the Lindsay Spur near 6 mi and Minnesota Rd; Either a big packing house for citrus fruits or a cotton compress. Razed buildings were located in open lot where semi trailers are parked.

Description:  From a 1961 aerial photo; Mo-Pac's Lindsay Spur left from the Monte Cristo branch that ran about 12 miles north of Mission TX. This farm shed was real close to where the spur diverged. The shed is still standing as of 2015

Description:  Mo-Pac map from 1930; SP had just arrived in 1929 and MoP was rightfully worried about the loss of its monopoly. This map is inside of the Hidalgo Pumphouse. It is a museum that has many interesting artifacts from the halycon days of industrial and agricultural development.

Description:  The line after crossing the StLBM crossed this street then entered the alley. A curving connection track ran behind the house and connected with the original alignment in the alley. It ran west to packing houses; about 2 miles.

Description:  This is the main reason I had a difficult time tracing where the SBRGV and StLBM had crossed. An old style building was built on the very site of the interlocker. They didn't bother to fully remove the xing in the street when the foundation and steps were poured.

Title:  SBRGV & StLBM xing
Description:  One of the earliest railroads in the Rio Grande Valley was the San Benito Rio Grande Valley RR. It ran from San Benito to Hidalgo then north thru Mission to Monte Cristo to Faysville - Hargill - Raymondville then to Santa Monica to Rio Hondo back to San Benito. It was quite the cicuituous route. MoP became the owner and scaled back these branches. By 1970, the diamond was gone and a spur ran west to some packing sheds. It went under the 77-83 highway.
