Description:  Missouri Pacific had a spiderweb line that ran from Raymondville-Hargill-Faysville-Monte Christo-Alton-Mission. North of Monte Christo a wye went to Moore Airfield. The Monte Christo-Faysville-Hargill was abandoned around 1964. The Alton-Mission lasted into the 1980s.

Description:  This view looks north where the SP (running north-south) crossed MP (running east-west). The Mo-Pac Faysville-Monte Christo branch was abandoned in 1964 so the tower was eliminated then. SP abandoned their Edinburg-Falfurrias section in 1979-80.

Description:  Known as North Edinburg; SP had a freight depot and a giant ice plant for chilling ice reefers. 1972 was the last year for using ice on SP, but it is unknown if this plant was used this late. Just north of here was a massive 6 or 7 yard track for 8000 foot trains. This yard was abandoned sometime in the mid 80s as it was no longer on a through route [abandoned North Edinburg-Falfurrias 1979-80].
