Album Info:I took my two grandsons down to Strasburg on Columbus Day, 2019 to see visiting Norfolk & Western Class "J" steam locomotive 611. The visit was announced back in the Spring and reserved tickets to ride behind 611 quickly sold out. I could not reserve back in June because I didn't have a handle on conflicts my grandsons might have with school and cub scouts and soccer. So we drove down on expecting to see the big northern, but not ride behind it. We were happy to discover that the Strasburg Railroad was offering short 20-minute duration trips behind the J on the day that we were there. They backed the train to east of Ebenshade grade crossing, then returned to the East Strasburg station. Similar to the shortened ride when they're doing a Thomas event. So the day counted as a big success for both grandsons, and Grandpa as well.
