The diamond crossing and the western leg of the belt line was removed following the TC's demise in 1968. It roughly followed the route of today's I-440 to Charlotte Ave. at West Nashville, crossing over the N.C.&St.L.'s main to Bruceton near that company's West Nashville Shop complex. |

The Pulaski to North Athens stretch was abandoned in the 1970's and the section south of Columbia was sold to the Tennessee Southern in 1989. I suspect that the Tennessee Southern would have also gotten the Brentwood to Columbia segment if the Saturn (now General Motors) plant in Spring Hill had not been under construction at the time of the sale. |
