Title:  IC 4-6-2 #1124 - Illinois Central
Description:  Originally built by ALCo-Richmond in March of 1913, Illinois Central #1124 (serial #53206) worked until a rebuild and renumbering to IC #2065 in March of 1942. The loco was later sold to Tennessee Central in March of 1945 where it lasted until it disappeared off the roster in January of 1953. Origihnal specs - 75" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 25x26" cylinders, engine weight of 247,500 lb, tractive effort of 33,150 lb. R.H. Carlson photo

Description:  Here is another ALCo-Brooks 4-6-2 Pacific built for the Illinois Central in April of 1918 as IC #1177. The loco served nearly 34 years before being scrapped in December of 1952. Description:  Built by ALCo-Brooks in October of 1912, Illinois Central #1106 (serial #52155) served the IC faithfully. In September of 1942, it was rebuilt and renumbered IC #2095. The loco was later sold to Feliciana Eastern RR in April of 1952. The later disposition is unknown. Description:  Built by ALCo-Brooks in October of 1916, Illinois Central #1139 (serial #56083) lasted until being scrapped in 1952. However it did play a part in an Presidential election in 1940. Seen here, it headed up the Wendel Willkie "Campaign Special " before the Republican convention in September of 1940. Rebuilt specs - 75.5" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 26x28" cylinders, engine weight of 285,500 lb, tractive effort of 48,511 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:  Originally built as Illinois Central 4-6-2 Pacific #1124 (serial #53206). the loco was rebuilt and renumbered in March of 1942 as IC #2065 seen here in the roundhouse. According to the back of the photo, the location was either in Dubuque, IA or Waterloo, IA. I lean toward Dubuque. The loco was eventually sold to Tennessee Central in March of 1943 and disappeared from their roster by January of 1953. Rebuilt specs - boiler pressure of 215 psi, 61" drivers, 25x26" cylinders, new weight of 248,733 lb, and new tractive effort of 48,683 lb. No date or photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:  Originally built as Illinois Central 4-6-2 Pacific #1085 by ALCo-Brooks in January of 1912, it was rebuilt and renumbered in January of 1943 as IC #2039. The loco lasted until being scrapped in July of 1955 however this photo was dated 9/25/1955 and showing it in working condition. The discrepancy could be the date marking on the photo or the ALCo records compiled by Weber. I lean toward the photo being mismarked. Rebuilt specs - 61" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 25x26" cylinders, engine weight of 248,733 lb, tractive effort of 48,683 lb. No photographer listed.

Description:  Oviously stripped of its bell, light and number plate and sitting in the scrap line at the Proviso Yard, Illinois Central 4-6-2 Pacific #2064 originally was built by ALCo-Richmond as IC #1138 (serial #53220). It was renumbered to 1030 in June 1937, and rebuilt and renumbered to IC 2064 in November of 1942. The loco served until being sold for scrap in May of 1955. The photo dated 12/11/1955 still shows it sitting in the scrap line however. Rebuilt specs - 61"drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 25x26" cylinders, engine weight of 248,733 lb, tractive effort of 48,683 lb. No photographer listed.
