Description:  Eastbounds descending Saluda had to occupy a timing circuit for a required amount of time before the safety track switch at Melrose would line for the mainline. Today the switch is lined for the main, but the rusted rails, weakening ties, and dark signals remind us that there hasn't been a train through here in years.
