I was a little surprised to see CN 8855 working alone, hauling an intermodal freighter southbound across the former Main Street in Mount Albert. But this locomotive had a helper at the rear. CN seems to be doing a lot more of this - placing locomotives at the front and rear of the train. |

| Description: |
Finally a little snow to make things interesting. I caught CN 2229 and workmate CN 2423 after hiking up the hill at McGowan Road with the snow a falling and the wind a blowing. While heading for home, I saw the train slowing down at the Davis Road overpass, and thought I just might catch up to her again at Warden Avenue, so went dashing through the snow to arrive just in time to jump out of the car and snap a few more pics with the snow really coming down. |

| Description: |
Catch of the Day is CN 1407 - a GMD1 so rare in these parts I couldn't believe my eyes. 1,001 were built between 1958 and 1960 - but only for the Canadian CN market. Although CN 1407 was just a hitchhiker on this train, it looked in good enough shape to spark the engine up. Looks really nice next to BCOL 4610. |
