Album Info:The Lafayette Branch was moving several hundred cars per month during the summer in 1994. NS even spent time brush cutting and doing upkeep on the branch. Here, the turn runs through Opelika on CSX trackage rights and turns on the Lafayette Branch proper at Roanoke, Jct, a couple miles to the north. Returning Turn sits at Roanoke Juction with the CSX AWP-WofA main ahead of it. It is only two miles but it might as well be a hundred as it waits for CSX to give clearance to proceed.

STAND CLEAR--On-Track brushcutters follow the Turn through the junction. The heavy duty blades destroy what they cannot cut, and woe be unto the passerby that gets close enough to be hit by flying tree trunks!
