Title:  Smoking near Marshall
Description:  An afternoon Dresser Turn comes up to Marshall St with a GP38-3 and two SD40-2s for power. Dean notches it up a bit as the power and 70 cars start to climb up grade. Usually I can't stand shooting into the sun, but I figured I could get a cool affect with the back-lighting and exhaust coming off these classic EMDs

Description:  A sweet looking 496 roars by and shakes the ground as it comes by in run 8 with all of the power giving all they can as they climb the grade towards Snelling Ave. While the speed limit here is 40, this train was just making it in run 8.

One great looking 171
Title:  One great looking 171
Description:  One my way down to Winona, I came across this nice looking 171 with this former Great Northern SDP40 leading! I believe that this is only one of two that are still in operation in North America. I also came across this train by chance. I had just checked the lights and just as I was about to head out the light popped green and I heard a roar of and EMD in the distance. Minutes later the headlights came into view and I finally got a shot of the 3093.

Dresser Surprise
Title:  Dresser Surprise
Description:  Well I didn't expect to see this today! My original intent was to catch the WC coming into town when I saw an approach signal at Victoria. I got out of the car, set up for a shot and a few minutes later, I heard the distinct sound of a CP horn. I was very pleased to see such a neat lashup on such an overcast day. One should note that the leader and trailing unit are both former Milwaukee Road units.
