Description:  CSX 7501, rounding a curve at Spurlock Creek (at Union Ridge Road, just south of the Mason county line) on Sunday, August 5, 2012. This is technically in Greenbottom, but it's part of the LeSage post office district. Confederate General Jenkins' homestead isn't too far from here.

Description:  CSX GP38-2 2756, still in the blue-grey-yellow scheme, assists 2759 with a relatively short eastbound freight. I don't know the heritage of this unit but it doesn't have the slotted battery box covers which a lot of Chessie/CSX power used to have. Notice, also, the yellow handrail on the short hood. The American flag on the cab side is a patriotic touch--thank you, CSX! Huntington, WV: 8-06-2012.

Description:  CSX GP38-2's 2759 and 2756, slowing down to a stop in the Huntington, WV yards on 8-06-2012. The bell is under the conductor's side running board. This unit has the other style of Blomberg trucks. The hand brake is mounted in the short hood-notice the notch where the yellow meets the blue. There is also a grabiron on the top of the short hood mounted above the hand brake. A beautiful engine in the solid blue scheme!
