You can barely see it, but the blue light on the dowel mast is still lit up. This was once a very common sight, now most of them have gone dark and have either never been re-lit or replaced with a light-less mast. This is the first one I've seen that's been lit up in several years |

This is the ex-SAL mainline between Savanna and Jacksonville. You can tell from the heavy welded rail that this used to be a mainline that was in good shape. In the late 1980's this line was severed as a through route and all the CTC was removed. Behind me the tracks start to be used again by the Riceboro Southern railway which runs between Riceboro and Savannah, GA |
