Title:  PC MP54s
Description:  Laying over in Baltimore between runs to Washington, sits a set of ex-PRR MP54s in April 1975. I recall that the ones painted in PC green were called Green Hornets. This was my first train trip with a friend to take train photographs using my Kodak Instamatic.

Title:  Penn Central silverliners
Description:  Not a great photograph but one very evocative of a passing era. Every year for decades the Army-Navy Game was played on neutral turf in Philadelphia and almost everyone (including the teams and the students) took special trains directly to the stadium. On a cold November night in 1975 we see two PC silverliner trains (serving the Philadelphia suburbs) waiting for the game to end. Platform D held the Paoli local.

Description:  By the 1970s, the old PRR MP54 emus were well past their sell by dates but they soldiered on in Philadelphia commuter service because SEPTA could not afford new equipment. Amazingly, this train of sixty year old coaches was operated by Conrail in May 1977.
