Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad E7 9934A on eastbound Train Number 10, the Denver Zephyr, at Naperville, Illinos on June 10, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built in March 1949 (c/n 8488) on EMD Order 1006A, became BN 9917 (3/2/1970) and was sold for scrap to Preceision National on April 1, 1971. Train #10 is seen here 29 miles away from completing its 1034 mile overnight run from Denver. It departed Aurora (about 10 miles to the west) at 8:32AM, so it's about 8:45 or so in the morning, if #10 is on schedule. |
