DR 8401 is a rebuilt ALCo, formerly Robe River CE636R number 9426 serial WA143-1 rebuilt by Comeng WA in 1986 from original ALCo C636 serial 3499-3 built by ALCo 1968 for Pennsylvania RR as 6332, then Penn Central 6332 and Conrail 6782 before coming to Australia in 1986. In 2007 it was rebuilt by Coote with an Alco 251+ as DR 8401 Jean. |
