Here is another example of a 2-8-0 Consolidation built by the Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin) in 1901 as part of the ATSF class 789. Specifics - 57" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 17"x32" high pressure cylinders, 28"x32" low pressure cylinders, engine weight of 202,360 lb, tractive effort of 42,321 lb. The loco was later simplified by Santa Fe shops in 1912 with a pair of 24"x32" cylinders. Date and location are approximations. No photographer lilsted. |
