PRR 2026, BF-16, 1961
Title:  PRR 2026, BF-16, 1961
Description:  4th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during January of 1961. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2026 and #9594. Both are BF-16's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 1,600 horsepower each; #2026 was built in 1952, but #9594 was built in 1951. Visible on the far left are some of the PRR's Passenger Car Shops. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.)

PRR 2026, BF-16, c. 1966
Title:  PRR 2026, BF-16, c. 1966
Description:  Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Erie, Pennsylvania, c. 1966. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2026 and another "BF" Class unit whose road number is not recorded. #2026 is a BF-16 built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in April of 1952, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in January of 1967 after just 15 years of revenue service. Looks to me like it's blown a gasket or two! Note the white pigeon, perched on the bridge, observing the action. Produced and distributed by the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society.
