Title:  Refueling at Echo
Description:  UP 4019 takes on coal and sand at Echo, Utah. During the war, UP photographers took sevreral images of the Big Boys hauling war material over the Wasatch. The hopper on the far left is a EA-50-3 class hopper. No info is known about the car. Big Boy 4019 would be one of the last Big Boys to operate, pulling the 5th-to-last train pulled by a Big Boy over the Wasatch on July 20, 1959. Description:  Its 1946, and 4019 wears its one-of-a-kind smoke deflectors as it leads a Pacific Fruit Express train through Echo Canyon. 4019 only wore smoke deflectors for a short period of time in 1946, and Gilbert Bennet used that as inspiration for this painting. Description:  UP 4019 thunders through East Ogden in January, 1946. 4019 was equipped with smoke deflectors reminiscient of the FEF series for a short period of time in 1946. The experiment is not completely documented, but it seems like the 1946 UP knew that in 2021, the UP Steam Fleet would consist of a Big Boy and an FEF. The behemoth would operate for UP for 18 years, pulling its last train over the Wasatch, 61 loads and 30 empties totaling 3961 tons, in late July, 1959. 4019 would spend two and a half years in storage in Cheyenne, finally being cut up on February 21, 1962.
