Description:
Here a crew member stands on the running board to give the 1927 PRR Juniata Shops built K-4s Paciifc a check and a wipe. Specifics - serial #3913, K-4s, 80" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 27x28" cylinders, engine weight of 304,500 lb, tractive effort of 44,460 lb. The loco was retired and scrapped in August of 1956. The location and date were not given so approximates were used. Unknown photographer. This K4s, built in 7/1924 by the Altoona shops, eventually was scrapped in 8/1956.
