Matt Florack General The date of the wreck was May 13, 1986... According to the September 1987 issue of Pacific Rail News, "the units were severely damaged when their train, North Platte-Proviso manifest NPPTA, collided with derailed cars from Elkhart-North Platte train ELNPA"... I had remembered reading this and didn't think there were pictures of it... Hope this information helps you!! 9/4/2011 12:07:13 AM

Matt Florack General The date of the wreck was May 13, 1986, although I do not know the date of the photo, of course... According to the September 1987 issue of Pacific Rail News, "the units, CNW GP50 5051, CNW SD45 6564 (the 16-cylinder rebuild), and UP U30C 2871, were severely damaged when their train, North Platte-Proviso manifest NPPTA, collided with derailed cars from Elkhart-North Platte train ELNPA"... I had remembered reading this and didn't think there were pictures of it... Hope this information helps you!! 9/4/2011 12:15:21 AM
Matt Florack General Sorry for the multiple posts; had a bit of an issue with my internet connection and it apparently went through four times... 9/4/2011 12:15:46 AM
