Stopped Northbound KCS Empty Grain Train
This northbound stopped short of the approach signal at South Amsterdam and laid off the crossings while waiting on the southbound Amsterdam Coal Load to take the siding and run around the wye towards La Cygne. The entire 6,792 foot siding is visible in this shot from the J Highway Overpass.

Mike Kirsch General What is the reason for the tall signal? 1/26/2008 11:41:12 PM
Joe Magruder General Good view from Hwy J bridge! This clear photo really makes the almost two visible miles of track look a lot shorter than it actually is. The background tower is visible east of my house. 1/27/2008 3:33:19 PM
David Mead General The zoom has again shown us how the tracks look so distrorted. Whilst I do not know your country, I assume that this loop is longer than the camera tells us. On the color light signal is the top mean "loop" and the "bottom" ahead? 1/28/2008 4:10:38 AM
