Moshassuck Valley 8
MVRR 8 is at the interchange with the New Haven to pick-up the three box cars. This is the east end of the Northup Ave. yard -- Providence skyline is in the background. The MVRR had intended to build under the NH near this point and reach the Pawtucket River to receive coal or other goods shipped by water at a lower cost. It would have electrified. Construction started in 1907 but the New Haven made rate concessions and the project was halted.
