An Alco Escher
This is the view on August 6, 1978 from the extremely rickety and ancient steel footbridge over the Southern Pacific's small Bull Ring Yard in downtown Los Angeles, a second-generation diesel lover's dream. In this shot there are a U50, eight U25Bs, a C628, two C630s, two S6s, an RSD12 and a C415. Although the majority of these engines were sent to the torch, two of these units still survive today, RSD12 #2954 is at the Orange Empire Railroad Museum after a stint with Metropolitan Stevedore and S6 #1272 runs in Quebec for the Asbestos & Danville as their #57.
