Oops!
The driver did everything; he stopped, looked and listened, and just as he was ready to go, the gates came down on him. 8804 had stopped a few yards from the crossing and crawled across it.

I guess it is nobody's fault since there was no damage done. Kudos to the driver and the engineer for paying attention.
