Oliver Junction
Casting their reflections upon the water of the Peoples Avenue drainage canal, a pair of Norfolk Southern run-through trains meet at Oliver Junction. Number 393 -- on the left -- is stopped and waiting for No. 314 to clear the single track connection between Terminal Junction, on the BACK BELT, and here, on the NS main line. No. 393 is headed for the Southern Pacific and has Espee SD45T-2's 6841 and 9333 with B40-8's 8065 and 8040. No. 314 is coming from the Union Pacific with NS GP50 7067, C30-7 8052 and SD40-2 6110. Both of these trains run between Houston and Birmingham.
