This unlettered and un-numbered 80-ton was built by GE in May 1962 as serial number 34265 for the Port of New Orleans for use at its Public Grain Elevator. The unit was photographed at the nearby New Orleans Pubic Belt roundhouse, where it was receiving some attention. After the grain elevator was demolished, the locomotive was sold to Birmingham Rail & Locomotive. (approximate day) |
