One of the fascinating and entertaing aspects of gravel pits was their often-unique machinery. The Clifton screening plant included four hopper cars and a school bus. Not surprisingly, the Green Brothers -- owners of the Standard Gravel Co. and the Washington-Western Railway -- painted almost all of their equipment green! |
