| The L&N's MOBILE WRECKER was attending to the derailment of SP GP35's 6599 and 6669 on an L&N-SP run-though train just west of the Franklin Avenue underpass in New Orleans. The 200-ton crane was L&N 40024, built by Orton in January 1968. It spent its entire life based in Mobile, and was retired by the CSX as SBD 740024 in October 1992. The boom car was the 41915 and the baggage car was the 41032. |
