Coal on the West Belt  Contributor's Pick!
Two BNSF units work a Wood River coal train on the TRRA's West Belt late in December 2010. After cooling its heels at Carrie Avenue for over almost two hours to wait Norfolk Southern traffic, the the train has finally been granted permission to cross the Merchant's Bridge. It's shown here approaching Grand Avenue (May St.) where it will quickly turn and climb to cross the Mississippi River.
