| UP SDP35 1401 at Council Bluffs, Iowa on October 31, 1965, Kodachrome by Lou Schmitz, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 1401 was built in September 1965 (c/n 30672) on EMD Order 7824, one of ten SDP35's ordered by the UP, originally to be numbered in the 980-989 series just above the E-units. They lasted until June 1980, when they were put in storage until retirement in 1985. This unit was scrapped by Saint Louis Auto Shredding in December 1985. |
