Wasn't 7812 the only whiteface SD40-2 to get the BN logo and Burlington Northern on the side? Awesome catch, wish I could go back in time and see some of this nice stuff in person.

Brandon: No, BN 8002, which was the first unit painted in the Tiger Stripe paint scheme, also had the BN logo & name spelled out on the long hood. BN 7812 was, however, the last unit to be painted into BN paint, and was completed just a few months before the official formal merging of BN & ATSF took place.
