Rising 160 feet into the sky, this is one of many landmark bridges used by the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway. Construction on it began in 1930 for the Pittsburgh and West Virginia Railroad which eventually became the Norfolk and Western in 1964. Starting in 1990, the Wheeling and Lake Erie took over the line which might have otherwise been abandoned. |
