Amtrak 8084 was built for!the Atlantic Coast Line in 1950 as 36-seat diner MOULTRIE and was later Seaboard Coast Line 5954. Thirteen of these diners were built by Pullman-Standard in Lot 6808: 10 for the ACL, two for the Florida East Coast and one for the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac. One of the ACL cars was wrecked in 1959, and the RF&P car went to Mexico; but the remaining ACL cars and the FEC cars became AMTK 8080-8088 and 8090-8091. (approximate month) |
