NS 5641  Contributor's Pick!
A pair of GP38-2's taking a freight local across the Brownsville Junction Bridge in near white-out conditions, on a very cold and blustery day. It was putting together a train in the West Brownsville yard on the other side of this bridge. NS 5641 is rebuilt from NS 2904 GP38. Before that it was Conrail 7722, and was built as Penn Central 7722 in July 1969. The snow was on and off like this all day long, making my camera eat up batteries like they were candy. And the scanner I use to listen to trains was busy with 911 transmissions all day. Emergency crews could not keep up with all the accidents.
