Must be one of the earlier versions of flared radiators, ty for those quick responses. Just added BN and it worked so guess it is. Ex NP built 8-44.

Stu Nicholson General Looks like an old Fairbanks-Morse switcher. 11/12/2012 1:03:13 PM
Douglas Hailey General Yes that is a Fairbanks-Morse switcher 11/12/2012 2:03:24 PM
Fred Stuckmann General Doesn't look at all like a VO 1000, that would be a Baldwin model. Great find though. 11/12/2012 4:50:59 PM
Rick Morgan General FM H-20-44; Southwest Portland Cement (SWPC) 409 11/12/2012 5:02:08 PM
Robert Beichler General If you have a copy of The Diesel Spotters Guide ( they are out of print) look on page FM 340. Rick is right it is a H-20-44 with Aux. air filters in the bulge. They could be a shop or rebuild add-on. Very cool find Bob. 11/12/2012 7:23:52 PM
Alan Fricker General Originally, this was a part of a Union Pacific FM order. UP sold it Soutwest Portland Cement, who added the extra air filters. Railfan and Railroad had an article quite some time ago on SWC's operations. I think that the gang at IRM has the largest collection of FMs in museum 'captivity". 11/12/2012 8:12:34 PM
David Nutter General Awesome find an old odd unit! 11/12/2012 10:52:26 PM
