CSX 769 First of a Series  Contributor's Pick!
In the tiny village of Huntdale, NC, up in Appalachia is a Free Will Baptist Church, established in 1900. The Church is on the north side of the tracks. There is no road on the north side of the tracks. The only way to get to the church is to cross the tracks at an unguarded crossing.

Bernie Feltman General Can you imagine the ordeal a church, business or individual would have to go thru today to get something like this approved??? 2/12/2013 5:31:39 PM
Marty Bernard General Bernie, when did the Clinchfield RR build through there? The Church was established 1900. Maybe not on that spot. I hope you looked at the pictures of the empty coal unit train passing. 2/12/2013 7:43:02 PM
Bernie Feltman General Virginia to South Carolina was totally complete in 1909 -- same as the old AB&C (CSX) Lineville Subdivision thru Alabama where my grandfather worked. When I was born, these lines were less than 50 years old. Hard to believe they both are over 100 years old now 2/12/2013 9:07:14 PM
