A pair of late-60s era Australian boxcabs at the Goulburn NSW depot- externally alike but very different inside. 42202 is a Clyde/GM deliveried to the NSW Ry in 1969 with 2000HP- mechanically it's similar to a US SD38. Only 20 were built-It wears an Aurizon patch over its previous scheme. Behind is QUBE 442 class unit 44202, originally delivered to NSW RY from Goodwin in 1969 as a class of 40 with an ALCO 251 prime-mover cranking out 2150HP. Getting these two units together defies the odds; Aurizon has only a pair of 422-class left; QUBE owns only one 442. |
