Starting life as a 1926 Alco-Richmond built 4-6-2 "Pacific", this loco went through an upgrade at the C&O Huntington shops along with its 3 other sisters. They were converted to 4-6-4 "Hudsons". All but #494 here were covered with streamlined coweling and painted yellow & silver. Only one remains at the B&O Museum in Baltimore. Eventually this one was retired and scrapped by mid 1950's.
