| M&E was acquiring Alcos wherever they could get them in the early 80s, and had picked up a pair of C 424s from the TP&W, which had gone all EMD. This one was fixed up and renumbered, the other went for parts. I got there just a little too late for full sun on the unit, so this is one of those "close but no cigar" shots, but I'll take it.
