Built in 1895-1896, the double tracked Delair Bridge was the first bridge of any sort between Philadelphia and New Jersey. In 1960, the Pennsylvania Railroad converted the bridge into a vertical-lift span to accomodate river traffic. The Delair Bridge currently serves NJ Transit's Atlantic City Line passenger service as well as Norfolk Southern and CSX freight. |
