| Delivered to Santa Fe as ATSF 3641 GP39-2 in March 1975, renumbered 3141 in anticipation of the SPSF merger then un-renumbered to 3641. In October 1987 this unit emerged from the Cleburne shops as GP39-2u and in August 1999 departed the ATSF roster for Burlington Northern Santa Fe as BNSF 2839. Eighteen years after the formation of BNSF 2839 has so far managed to evade the paint booth sporting only a patch and vinyl lettering below the cab. |
