Train 557 pases the signal at MP 249-2 as it approaches Waverly. The semaphores were scheduled to be replacesd, but the reality was that most of them between Endicott and Waverly would last into the 21st century, so they didnt vanish quite as fast as anyone expected-to our great delight. The real surprise here is the trailing unit-a GP38-2. These were not common on the D&H, though there was a period in 1994 when they showed on a regular basis. Today's train has 7 COFC and 25 stack platforms. |
