Cleveland Line
A view towards the diamond at Alliance. The signals stayed on for a little while after the train went by. The unused switch in the left corner is all that remains of the former interchange between the PRR and the LE&W, which later became NYC and eventually abandoned. Behind the Track 2 signal you can see new switches ready for installation. With new switches (for I presume faster speed turnouts) can we assume the two remaining PL's on NS's main line in Ohio are now on the endangered list?

Mike Brotzman General I wouldn't worry so much about those signals. NS actually installs new PRR PL's in places and a switch replacement will probably not require NS to re-wire the interlocking, which is very costly ro re-certify. Changing signals, however, will. 6/13/2006 10:07:41 PM
