An unknown photographer caught this Chicago South Shore & South Bend interurban car heading through the Burnham Yard in Burnham, IL. The orange "flashes" (or as some called the "crash, rattle, bangs" from their noisy running) were common sights in northwest Indiana before being replaced by the sleek silver sided Nippon Sharyo units delivered in 1982. |
