| The 30th St yard was formerly a NYC facility, built to serve the trains that worked the West Side Line, now the High Line Park. A connection was built from Penn Station to the yard, and it is now used to store LIRR equipment, saving a round trip to the Island to lay up for the day. Dad caught a train rolling out among all the slumbering M 1s. |
