This is another of the 25 Mikados built by Alco-Brooks in 1912 for the Chicago & Eastern Illinois. Specs - N-1 class, 63" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine weight of 300,000 lb, tractive effort of 55,533 lb. The class was retired between 1947-50. No date given but since the tender in the background is lettered, not numbered, it's before the early 1940's since C&EI changed the markings on tenders areound that time. Ivan W. Saunders photo |
