Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad yard locomotive at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during July of 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #8973, a BS-16M built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. It is pulling a string of cars past the Hollidaysburg "Yard Limit" sign. This photo was taken at the Juniata River Railroad Bridge, just East of the Bedford Street Crossing. |
