Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-June of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engine #5707 and four other "E" units whose numbers were not recorded. All were built by EMD. #5707 is an EP-22 built in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound mail/express train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. Wave to the engineer! |
