PRR 2022, BF-16, 1964
7th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 08 March 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #2022, a BF-16 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1952 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. It and two other Baldwin "Sharks" are pulling an eastbound freight train under the 7th Street Bridge into the Altoona Yards. Visible behind it are portions of PRR engines #7070 and #9766-B, which are waiting for orders to proceed with a westbound mixed-cargo freight train.
